What We Offer

Cleaning and Exams

Our dental team provides professional cleanings and exams to help keep your mouth and smile healthy. Routine preventive care is essential for avoiding dental issues such as tooth decay and gum disease.
Dental cleanings and exams are simple but critical treatments that help maintain your oral health. Each time you visit our office, we provide a thorough teeth cleaning and comprehensive dental exam to keep your smile in top condition.

During your visit, our team will:

  • Remove plaque and tartar buildup (also called dental calculus) that can lead to tooth decay and periodontal disease
  • Floss and polish your teeth for a bright, healthy smile
  • Examine your teeth, gums and overall oral health for any signs of dental problems or disease

We may also use dental X-rays to evaluate your smile more thoroughly and ensure you receive the care you need. Regular cleanings and exams help prevent cavities and gum disease, while allowing early detection and treatment of potential issues.

We recommend visiting our office every six months for routine cleanings and exams. Depending on your individual needs, more frequent visits may be suggested, and we encourage you to contact us immediately if you experience dental pain, injury, or an emergency.

Dental Hygiene

Our dental professionals are dedicated to helping you maintain excellent oral health. When you visit our office, our dentists and team review your oral hygiene and provide personalized recommendations to help you improve and protect your smile.
During your appointment, we focus on enhancing your oral health, but consistent care at home is equally important. Good dental hygiene includes daily habits and practices that keep your smile healthy and bright. Our team recommends the following steps to maintain optimal oral health:

  • Brush your teeth after each meal, or at least twice a day, using a soft-bristled toothbrush and fluoride toothpaste.
  • Floss daily, ideally before bedtime, to remove plaque and debris between teeth.
  • Eat a balanced diet and limit sugary or acidic foods, which can contribute to tooth decay.
  • Maintain regular dental visits every six months for professional cleanings and thorough exams to ensure any preventive or restorative treatments are provided promptly.

During your visit, we will review your dental hygiene habits and provide guidance on additional steps you can take to further protect and enhance your oral health.

Emergency Dentistry

Midtown Dental provides emergency dentistry to restore your smile and get your oral health back on track. If you are experiencing a dental emergency, call us at (403) 228-5629 right away so we can arrange for you to see one of our dentists promptly. Our team will also give you clear instructions on how to care for your smile until your appointment.

A dental emergency is any situation that requires immediate attention from a dental professional. We understand that emergencies can happen unexpectedly, and we encourage you to contact us as soon as possible. Our team will schedule you to see a dentist as quickly as possible so you can receive the treatment you need. We handle a variety of dental emergencies, including:

  • Severe or persistent toothaches
  • Lost dental restorations, such as fillings or crowns
  • Injury to soft tissue, including tongue, cheeks, lips, and gums
  • Cracked, fractured, chipped, or broken teeth
  • Partially or fully knocked-out teeth

If you experience any of these conditions or another type of dental emergency, contact our office immediately. We will provide guidance on caring for your smile until you arrive. If you have sustained trauma to the head or neck, we recommend visiting the emergency room or your general physician first, even if your teeth or gums are affected.

Digital Dentistry

At Midtown Dental, our dentists use digital X-rays to closely examine your mouth and plan your treatments. This advanced imaging technology allows us to diagnose and treat issues at their earliest stages, before they can cause serious damage to your teeth and supporting structures.

Digital X-rays are a key diagnostic tool that enhances the quality and efficiency of your care. Unlike traditional film X-rays, digital radiography uses a digital sensor to capture images quickly and comfortably, with significantly less radiation and no chemical development required. The high-quality images are instantly viewable on monitors in the treatment room, allowing our dentists to provide accurate diagnoses and timely care.

Digital X-rays help identify a variety of dental issues, including:

  • Decay between teeth
  • Developmental abnormalities
  • Improper tooth root positioning
  • Cysts and abscesses
  • Fractures in existing fillings
  • Tumors
  • Infection in the tooth nerves
  • Bone loss

This technology supports treatment planning for many dental procedures, including oral surgery, root canal therapy, dental implants, orthodontics, and more, ensuring precise and effective care tailored to your needs.

Root Canal Therapy

Root canal therapy can save your tooth! Our skilled dentists may recommend this treatment to remove infection, decay, or damaged tissue from the nerves of your tooth. This helps avoid extraction, allowing you to continue using the tooth for years to come.

Also known as a root canal, this treatment is a type of endodontic therapy often recommended when the tooth pulp and nerves become infected or damaged. This can occur if injury or decay penetrates deep into the tooth, past the outer enamel. If left untreated, the infection may cause the tooth to die and require extraction. To restore the tooth’s health, our dentists remove the infected tissue, clean the inside of the tooth, and fill it with medicated material. The tooth is then capped with a restoration, such as a dental crown, to return it to its original shape and function. In most cases, a root canal can be completed in just one or two comfortable visits.

Although root canals have a reputation for being painful, modern techniques, tools, and anesthesia allow treatment to be completed with minimal discomfort. Our dentists and team work hard to ensure every visit is as pleasant and comfortable as possible.
